09/22/05: STAIND, P.O.D., TAPROOT GEAR UP FOR “FALL BRAWL”; LABELMATES SET TO ROCK U.S. ON CROSS-COUNTRY TREK

Flip/Atlantic recording group Staind has weighed in with the announcement of a major headlining U.S. tour, dubbed the “Fall Brawl.” The cross-country trek will find the band joining forces with Atlantic labelmates P.O.D. and Taproot, plus Texas rockers Flyleaf, for what promises to be one of the season’s most electrifying events. The itinerary is slated to kick off November 11th in San Jose, California and run through mid-December.

The “Fall Brawl” tour will see the three Atlantic bands supporting new releases: Staind’s “CHAPTER V” and Taproot’s “BLUE-SKY RESEARCH” – both of which are in stores now – and P.O.D.’s eagerly awaited new album, “TESTIFY,” which is slated to arrive in January 2006.

Prior to the kick-off of the “Fall Brawl,” Staind will play a string of dates across Canada, running from October 29th through November 6th, as well as shows in Seattle and Spokane (with Taproot & Flyleaf opening). A benefit for the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief, the commercial-free concert will be staged in 3 different cities - Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville. It will be broadcasted simultaneously on all music networks including MTV, VH1, CMT, MTV2, VH1 Classic, mtvU, and MTV Overdrive & VSpot. The concert aims to drive awareness and support for the victims in the hurricane-hit regions.

Staind is confirmed as one of the artists to perform at the benefit concert on September 10th. STAIND FORCED TO POSTPONE EUROPEAN DATES DUE TO U.S. PROMOTIONAL COMMITMENTS;

BAND WILL MOVE FORWARD WITH FALL NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINING TOUR

STAIND have been forced to cancel their planned European tour, due to U.S. promotional commitments. The band had scheduled a month-long European tour that was set to begin September 19 in Dublin, Ireland in support of their CHAPTER V album, which entered the BILLBOARD Top 200 Chart at #1 in the U.S. The European dates will be rescheduled for March 2006.

In a joint statement, STAIND--singer AARON LEWIS, guitarist MIKE MUSHOK, bassist JOHNNY APRIL and drummer JON WYSOCKI--said, “We love touring overseas and are incredibly thankful to our European fans. Unfortunately at this time, circumstances prevent us from coming over to perform live. We apologize for this inconvenience to our fans and look forward to seeing everyone in the future.”

STAIND will announce their North American headlining tour dates in the coming weeks. Beyond the traditional shows along the tour route, STAIND will do a special free concert in a major U.S. city--in connection with Honda Civic Live--details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.

10,000 FANS TURN OUT FOR STAIND’S FREE SHOW AT CITY HALL PLAZA IN BOSTON AS THE GROUP’S NEW CD ‘CHAPTER V’ HITS STORES

Over 10,000 rabid fans turned out for STAIND’s free show at Boston’s City Hall Plaza on Tuesday as part of the “Fusion Flash Concerts” Series. This special performance in the band’s home state coincided with the release of their new CD CHAPTER V (Flip/Atlantic). This surprise show was announced only five days in advance, via the “Fusion Flash Concerts” Series, employing text messaging as a means of alerting and gathering fans for shows. The band performed a set that included tracks from CHAPTER V, along with some of the band’s hits including: “Right Here,” “So Far Away” and “Mudshovel.” Following their free performance in Boston, STAIND headed to New York for a performance on the Howard Stern Show. The band performed “Right Here” and did a stirring rendition of the “Beetlejuice” song, written by one of Howard’s multiple casts of characters. CHAPTER V is STAIND at their best. Writing in the New York Post (8-7-05), Dan Aquilante noted: “On this disc, storming guitars give way to calm strumming; singer Aaron Lewis bends his pipes to make both gutter screams and sweet coos. The album is forceful, but rarely displays anger in the lyrics. Instead there is emo introspection in these confessionals.” The album’s first single “Right Here” is a Top Five on both the Modern Rock (#4) and Active Rock (#3) charts. STAIND--singer AARON LEWIS, guitarist MIKE MUSHOK, bassist JOHNNY APRIL and drummer JON WYSOCKI--are presently on a cross-country tour with 3 Doors Down and receiving critical praise for their live performances. 06/27/05 / Staind Opens Chapter V with Tour

As preparations are made for the release of their upcoming album CHAPTER V, STAIND will head out on the road with 3 Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin and No Address for a cross-country U.S. tour.

Due out August 9th, CHAPTER V marks the group's fifth album and is the follow-up to the band's 14 SHADES OF GREY. Recorded at Allaire Studios in Shokan, NY and at the band's Springfield, MA rehearsal space, the CD was produced and mixed by David Bottrill (Peter Gabriel, Mudvayne, Godsmack, Tool). The album's first single, 'Right Here,' is already hitting radio waves and the band will soon be shooting the video for the track.

For now, some lucky fans are getting a sneak preview of the new music. Staind singer Aaron Lewis and guitarist Mike Mushok are in the midst of visiting 16 cities and have invited small groups of fans onto their tour bus to hear a selection of tracks from the album. Mike explains, 'Aaron and I have been out the last couple of weeks previewing the record for fans across the country and the response has been awesome! I really can't wait to get back out on the road and start playing these songs live.'

Staind, Aaron and Mike along with bassist Johnny April and drummer Jon Wysocki, will head out on the road prior to the album's release for a U.S. tour with 3 Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin and No Address.
